Tamara Vincelette graduated from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 1986 and has practiced in Denver since then. She began her career in the litigation department at Holland & Hart, from 1986-1991, before becoming a shareholder at Powers Phillips, P.C., where she practiced for over 13 years. During that time she transitioned from commercial litigation to family law, as a better fit with her interests. Tamara became a fan of the Collaborative Model after taking Level I training almost twenty years ago. She has served on the Executive Board of Colorado Collaborative Law Professionals, and is its immediate Past President. She is also a past president of the Rocky Mountain Collaborative Law Professionals practice group. She has taken numerous advanced trainings, including 40-hour mediation training, courses on Non-Adversarial Communication, and the Collaborative Divorce process.
In addition to divorce work, Tamara helps modify prior court orders on maintenance, parenting time, and child support; helps establish allocations of parental responsibilities; defends common law marriage claims; and negotiates and drafts marital and pre-marital agreements. She has also handled step-parent adoptions.
